Event log: To help our Retailers troubleshoot cases involving activity in the incorrect shop location (e.g. sales or special orders), merchants using can now track in Settings Event Log when an employee changes their shop location. By tracking shop location changes, you can now lower the possibility of cases involving activity in the incorrect shop location by:

  • reviewing with your employee on how they can see their current shop location in the main menu.
  • enabling their Limit To Shop setting in their employee account.CLD-13422

Please also note that this feature is only available for desktop users that log in to their Lightspeed Retail on their web browser.

Bug Fixes

  • Item Import tool: When the Brand or Publish to eCom fields are empty in an import file, the tool will now skip over them when updating an item. Additionally, when you enter NULL in the Publish to eCom field of an import file, the tool will now update the item according to the Automatically publish to eCom checkbox in SettingsGeneral Options General. To further understand your import file, please click here.CLD-15665
  • Average cost: When an item with a default cost greater than 0 has only inventory lots with a unit cost of 0, the average cost of the item is the same as the default cost instead of being 0. This is now fixed.CLD-15342
  • Item search filters: When searching items with the Items w/out Inventory filter select, archived items with no inventory are included in the search results. This is now fixed.CLD-15556
  • Creating brands (iPad): When logged into the Retail POS app in Retail Manager mode, merchants are not able to add a brand using the redesigned Brand drop-down. This is now fixed. CLD-15627

Feature Enhancements

eCom user accounts: While we’ve streamlined the workflow to give you and your Retail employees eCom access in our past releases, we’ve now incorporated some securities measures that can remove it.This is controlled by actions in Retail that will either set the associated eCom user account’s status to Approved or Denied:

  • Archiving/un-archiving employee accounts.
  • Locking/unlocking employee accounts.
  • Enabling/disabling the eCom right in an employee role.

For more information on removing and restoring eCom access of your eCom user accounts, please click here.CLD-15331CLD-15296

Unless you are the owner of the Retail account, you also won’t be receiving a Create your Lightspeed eCom Password email when you create your eCom user account anymore. The system is designed to use your Retail employee account’s password.CAM-5930

Brands: To further unify the Retail and eCom experience into one Lightspeed experience, we’ve been changing all instances of the term manufacturer(s) to brand(s) in your Retail accounts. By updating the below manufacturer(s) instances, we believe to have finally caught them all:

  • The employee permission Inventory – Manufacturers is now renamed to Inventory – Brands.
  • The Manufacturer Sales Roll-Up report and its Manufacturer field is now renamed to Brand Sales Roll-Up report and Brand respectively.CLD-15616
