At Lightspeed, resolving bugs is one of our New Year’s resolutions and what better way to mark a new beginning than with some new features!

Here’s what we’ve been working on during the Holiday season and cheers to making this year even better than the last!

New Features

Sign-in page redesign: Out with the old, in with the new! Our newly redesigned sign-in page brings style and speed to the Lightspeed experience while continuing to put your security and privacy first. Although the look and feel is upgraded, you’ll still be able to use the same credentials to access your account.

Cost calculations in transfers: Having accurate cost calculations is important to our Retailers and it’s with this need in mind that we’ve improved the cost calculations surrounding our transfer feature. More specifically, when items are in transit on a transfer to or from another shop, the average cost of the items are no longer recalculated when a Retail account is using the Average Cost cost method. If item adjustments that require recalculations of their average cost are made however, then the recalculations should include the inventory lots that are in transit.CLD-16021

Adding payment terminals: Configuring your payment processing in Lightspeed Retail is dependent on:

  • how you’re accessing your Retail account (a web browser on your computer vs. the Retail POS app on your iPad).
  • which payment provider you’re using (e.g. Cayan, Vantiv, etc.).
  • what hardware your payment provider supports (a card reader and/or a payment terminal).

We’ve now simplified these dependencies even further by only making the Add a Payment Terminal button available when the supported criteria above are met. This will make configuring your payment processing that much more streamlined and bring us closer to our common goal: to get you to start making sales as quickly and easily as possible! CLD-10868

Bug Fixes

  • Adding serial numbers: When a serial number is created and a customer is attached, the serial number was not displaying in Inventory > Serial Numbers. This is now fixed.CLD-16036
  • Sorting inventory counts: When reviewing the Count section of an inventory count, the column headers can’t be clicked to sort the counted items. This is now fixed.CLD-10912

Bug Fixes

Navigating between Retail and eCom: We’re bringing more clarity to the intended use of the Manage Online Details and View in Online Store item buttons by only making them visible when you access your Retail account from a web browser (e.g. Firefox or Google Chrome) on your computer.
