What’s new in Lightspeed Retail’s app version 2.16?
Like the upcoming spring, our March release is bringing about change that will make your everyday that much easier. However, we’ve decided to skip on the “spring break” festivities because we’re excited to keep working on the next features, improvements and bug fixes we have planned for you!
New Features
- Quick Pay: Driving up your sales and making your store’s checkout experience as seamless as possible is important to us and our new Quick Pay feature does just that. By bringing the Cash payment type and the Finish Sale button to the forefront in your sales workflow, you can now checkout a customer who wants to pay for their entire sale in cold hard cash in fewer taps than ever before.

- Non-discountable items: Discounts are a powerful way to get rid of your dusty inventory, but only when they’re applied to the correct item. This is why when an item is set to non-discountable, the application no longer allows you to apply a discount to the item in POS mode. The item’s non-discountable setting is also respected when you apply a discount to the entire sale. LI-2928
Supported Hardware
- LAN receipt printers: We’ve made manually adding of one of our supported LAN receipt printers more clear and reliable than over before by introducing a new step in the setup workflow and stability improvements.

UI Improvements
- Customers: Along with making searching or creating a customer during a sale as easy as tapping Add Customer, we also redesigned the look and feel of the customer section of a sale. LI-6604
- Sale sidebar: You can now see the full breakdown of your sale in the payment sidebar of your sale and remove a payment by simply tapping the x next to it. LI-6605
- Sale bottom bar: By relocating the sale breakdown to the payment sidebar, redesigning the customer section and introducing the Quick Pay buttons, the bottom bar of your sale is now changed for the better. And did we mention prettier? LI-6563
